Sea of Stars

The first game announced was Sea of Stars. Thierry Boulanger, creative director of Sabotage Studios, explained the detailed system of this work, including turn-based, locking, hit timing, combo moves, and boosting.

Combat in “Sea of Stars” is purely turn-based with no time limit, putting no pressure on the player to make decisions at their own pace. 6 playable characters each have 4 different spells or skills with different damage types and patterns and can be used in conjunction with others. The characters’ techniques can be used in combination with those of the other characters.

Sea of Stars also serves as an RPG that explores the time-honored themes of adventure and friendship, while providing the unexpected twists and events that are the hallmark of Sabotage’s work.

Sea of Stars will make its way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2023. No release window was given.

Signalis

The next game showcasedis Signalis, which calls itself both a classic survival horror and a psychological horror game with elements of cosmic horror. Therefore, the information presented in this article is only a superficial part of the game – the true essence of this game can only be discovered by actually playing it.

Signalis features an atmospheric, brooding horror story set in a retro science fiction world. The protagonist is called Elster, an engineer replica. When he wakes up from his capsule, he finds that his spaceship has crash-landed and the only pilot on board, Ariane Yang, is missing. Eventually, Elster finds something under the planet’s ice sheet that should not be there, and the situation changes when they receive a mysterious radio signal.

Signalis will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on October 27, 2022.

Schim

Schim, developed by Ewoud van der Werf, the lead developer, and Nils Slijkerman, The Moonsailor production team is in charge of music.

The main character in this work is a shadow creature called “schim” (Read: skim), who is trying to return to its original human shadow. The game is about meeting, helping, and interacting with other skims and characters while visiting spots with a Dutch motif.

In Schim, players can explore various objects and their shadows, allowing for plenty of trial and error. Some of the shadows that can be explored will have a bit of a visual or audio component, while others will be integrated with the flow of the game world and actually change the situation for the player and the characters.

Schim is heading to PS4 and PS5 next year.

The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition

This is a brand new premium experience remade from a long-lost piece of media from 2016, packed with new features, and will retail for $40 / 40 euros / £35 / ¥4000 with a very special early bird bonus available during the first two weeks of launch.

Now, why is it called Phoenix Edition? Because it adds many new islands to the world of The Void, and Monolith structures reveal new paths and secrets across previously existing islands. To travel across these new locations, a grappling hook has been added. Most important of the editions, though, is the fact that The Tomorrow Children has removed all reliance on external servers, so it can’t be lost like the original version was back in 2016.

Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition will launch on September 6 in Europe and North America and on September 7 in Japan. The date marks exactly 6 years since the first trailer.

Inscryption

And finally, from the creator of Pony Island and The Hex comes the latest mind melting, self-destructing love letter to video games: Inscryption. This is an inky black card-based odyssey that was previously released on PC last year, and blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror all in one scary package.

The PlayStation version will make special use of the DualShock/DualSense controller, with the lights of the controller flickering in accordance with what’s on the screen, and the voice of the cards will come directly from your controller, allowing for a more immersive experience!
