Record of Ragnarok Season 2 Unveils New Trailer and January 26 Debut

The anime adaptation of the Record of Ragnarok / Shūmatsu no Warukyūre manga series released a new trailer, and announced the series is debuting on January 26!

The new trailer previews the next three fights in the tournament against humans and gods, with Jack The Ripper voiced by Tomokazu Sugita vs Heracles voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi. Following their bout, Raiden Tameemon voiced by Subaru Kimura faces off against Shiva voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki. The trailer also unveiled the show’s opening theme song, “Rude, Loose Dance” by Minami, and the ending theme song “Prayer” (祈) by Masatoshi Ono.

The season will be broadcasted across 15 episodes, with the first two major bouts on January 26 and the latter bout between Yuichi Nakamura’s depiction of Buddha against the seven lucky gods appearing later in 2023. The anime will again be debuting on Netflix.

About Record of Ragnarok

After 7 million years of history, the gods have decided that humanity is irredeemable and must be purged from the world. In a bid to keep the history and legacy of humanity alive, the valkyrie, Brynhild proposes a battle between the greatest of humanity’s heroes, and the best of the gods in Ragnarok. 13 humans, will face off against 13 gods in a duel to the death, whichever side having the most victories deciding the fate of humanity. With the help of the Valkyries as powerful weapons at the humans’ disposal, anything can happen.

Record of Ragnarok is an ongoing manga series by Ajichika, Shinya Umemura, and Takumi Fukui, published on Monthly Comic Zenon since 2017 and licensed by Viz Media. The manga is currently at 14 volumes in Japan. The series also has a spin-off titled “Ryo Fu Hō Sen Hishōden” which focuses on the “flying general” Lu Bu.

Record of Ragnarok was adapted into an anime on June 17, 2021 by Graphinica Yumeta Company and released on Netflix with its first season running for 12 episodes.
