Grand Blue Dreaming Creator Kimitake Yoshioka’s TenPuru: No One Can Live on Loneliness is getting a television anime adaptation that is set to premiere in 2023. The first key visual, trailer, main cast, and staff were also revealed along with the announcement.
The anime will be directed by Kazuomi Koga, director of Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2, with character designs by Masato Katsumata, and series composition by Youhei Kashii. The animation will be handled by studio Gekkou.
The main cast includes Masayuki Akasaka as Akemitsu Akagami, Aimi Terakawa as the heroine Yuzuki Aoba, Yuu Serizawa as Tsukuyo Aoba, Nanami Yamashita as Kurage Aoba, Madoka Asahina as Mia Christoph, and Sumire Uesaka as Kagura Baldwin.
Two illustrations by the manga’s author to commemorate the announcement of the adaptation were also released.
TenPuru is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s online platform Comic Days since September 2018. In June 2020, it was announced that BookWalker Global partnered with Kodansha USA to release the manga in English, and the first two volumes were released digitally on July 14, 2020.
The manga is a youthful love comedy that follows Akemitsu Akagami, who was always told by his father that “no one can live alone”… but being born into a family with not a good reputation and surrounded by rumors, he didn’t have an easy life. After a casual encounter and falling in love at first sight with a young girl, his head was filled with impure thoughts, so he did the right thing and decided to become a monk to live a stoic life. However, the temple where he ended up was full of beautiful girls and the girl of his casual encounter was also there, what will happen to him now…?
