The incredibly popular anime adaptation of The Eminence in Shadow light novel confirmed that it’s getting a second season!
This news comes from the live stream from Kadokawa commemorating the anime’s last episode airing recently, only for it to also announce partway into the stream that the anime’s going to have a 2nd season, with the main staff and cast returning at studio Nexus! The teaser shows a red moon overlooking a city with blood flowing from people before it confirms that this season will cover the Red Moon incident in the Lawless City!
The anime also released a new visual for this season, showing a silhouette of Cid, the Red Moon, the vampire tower, and the Lawless city as it’s about to be in for a horrible night.
Season 2 of the Eminence in Shadow anime currently has no release date.

The Eminence in Shadow / Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! is a Japanese light novel series by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Tozai. The series began its publication in 2018 as an online series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website before it was later acquired by Enterbrain.
Cid Kagenou is a young man reborn from the modern world, whose only desire in life was never to be a hero or a true villain, but as someone who lurks in the shadows, manipulating events of the world from behind the scenes. When he is reincarnated into this new world he devotes himself to his training in swordplay and magic, all while putting on the mask of a mediocre person to the public.
In reality, though, he calls himself Shadow, the leader of Shadow Garden, an organization that is hell-bent on taking down the Cult of Diablos, an organization that controls the world from the shadows. Through his encounter as a young man saving those he encounters, he tells them of this story, and they eventually band together in the shadows on his mission.
What they don’t realize though is Cid has no idea what he’s talking about and is actually just a super powerful nerd at heart, and it also turns out that the Cult of Diablos is very real!
