At a special stage event of today’s Anime Japan 2023, the television anime Oshi no Ko has revealed a new key visual and the second official trailer that previews the anime’s ending theme song “Mephisto” by Queen Bee. The anime is scheduled to debut on April 12, 2023.
The event also revealed two additional cast members, including Manaka Iwami as the actress Akane Kurokawa and Rumi Ōkubo as the popular vTuber MEM, who will also stream videos on the anime’s official Youtube from time to time.
As previously announced, the anime will debut its first episode as a 90-minute anime film and can be seen in advance at screenings in Japan starting on March 17.
Oshi no Ko centers on Goro, a young doctor who is a huge fan of his favorite idol Ai Hoshino. After suddenly being told to handle the birth of his favorite idol’s children, he is murdered by a crazed fan and then finds himself, and a patient of his reborn as Ai’s children. The story follows them as they learn the truth about their birth, and follow in the footsteps of their beloved mother, and Oshi (Favorite Girl).
