Based on Sai Sumimori’s fantasy light novel, the television anime Am I Actually the Strongest? has unveiled its first trailer and more cast members. The series will premiere in July 2023.
The unveiled video showcases the challenges faced by the protagonist, Hart Zenfis, who is reborn as a newly born baby in another world with unexpectedly strong magic. In this fantasy world, he meets Flay, the wolf girl who becomes his follower and marks the beginning of Hart’s journey to look for a peaceful life even though troubles always find him.
The additional cast joining the anime includes Wakana Kuramochi as Liza, the Blizzard Dragon maid who serves Hart, and Shinnosuke Tachibana as Laius, the son of the king. Manaka Iwami takes the role of Marianne, the daughter of the king and Laius’ half-sibling. Ami Koshimizu plays Irisphilia, a naive girl who attends the same school as Hart, and Misaki Kuno plays Tearietta Luseiannel, a female professor researching ancient magic.

A Blizzard Dragon is a reclusive ancient dragon who has been reading books in a cave for 300 years. Helped by Hart, she becomes his follower and Char’s personal maid because of her quick memory and knowledge.

Son of King Zirk and Queen Gieselotte. Marianne is his half-sister. He has always been arrogant, taking advantage of his position as the next king…? He sees Hart as his rival.
■ Marianne – CV: Manaka Iwami
Daughter of King Zirk and the former queen. Laius is her half-brother. She has the behavior and common sense appropriate for a princess and often warns Laius of his arrogance. She is a little concerned about Hart…?
■ Irisphilia – CV: Ami Koshimizu
Like Hart, she is a student at the Royal Grandfelt Academy of Advanced Magic. She was raised in a monastery for a reason, and perhaps because of her closed environment with no interaction with her surroundings, she has a naive side.
■ Tearietta Luseiannel – CV: Misaki Kuno
A female professor who studies ancient magic at the Royal Grandfelt Academy of Advanced Magic. She is called “Tia” by those around her. She is confident in her research and shows interest in Hart’s abilities.
▍About Am I Actually the Strongest?
Am I Actually the Strongest? is a Japanese light novel series written by Sai Sumimori. It was originally published as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in September 2018. Kodansha later acquired the series and began publishing it in print with illustrations by Ai Takahashi. The series also received a manga adaptation, illustrated by Takahashi, which began serialization on Suiyōbi no Sirius in April 2019. The series has been published in English as Am I Actually the Strongest? by Kodansha USA under the Vertical imprint since January 3, 2023.
In the series, a shut-in is reborn to another world with the promise of a peaceful life. Although born into royalty, because his magic appeared to be weak, his parents abandoned him without a thought in the forest to being devoured by monsters. However, his magic is actually inhumanly strong. Now, as the newly-born Reinhart, or Hart to his new friends, he must find his way through a dangerous world to attain the peaceful life he desires. With magic that surpasses all expectations, he faces thrilling adventures and formidable challenges along the way.
