The upcoming television anime series Paradox Live The Animation started streaming a teaser trailer highlighting the music project’s hip-hop units; BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, and Akanyatsura. The anime is scheduled to debut in October 2023.
In a blend of colorful scenes filled with neon-drenched cityscapes, the teaser gives a preview of the characters and places that they usually hang out such as the apartment shared by the members of BAE and the bar owned by the members of The Cat’s Whiskers. Despite the short length of the teaser, viewers can glean a sense of each team’s character and the vibrant world they inhabit.
The video was revealed on May 21, at the project’s largest-scale live event, “Paradox Live Dope Show 2023,” held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
Paradox Live The Animation is an anime adaptation of the hip-hop media mix project, Paradox Live, jointly produced by Avex Group and GCREST. Set in the near future where hip-hop culture has reached a saturation point, the story is centered around various teams using their unique musical styles to dominate the stage in a new movement known as Phantom Live.
The media mix project began with four hip-hop groups BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, and Akanyatsura. These teams competed in a mysterious competition, Paradox Live, with a staggering prize of 10 billion yen and a golden opportunity to duel with the legendary rap duo, Buraiken. Later, four new groups joined the battle, VISTY, AMPRULE, 1Nm8, and Goku Luck, all vying for the top spot.
