Modus Games announced that the upcoming Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons co-operative beat ’em up game is coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on July 27!
This spin-off of the classic Double Dragons game brings back Billy, Jimmy, and Marian in an all-new adventure in New York City, where gangs have again begun vying for control over the city, terrorizing its inhabitants. Unwilling to endure these harsh conditions, the Double Dragons take it upon themselves to fight for their city!
With seamless tag-team combos and abilities, 13 playable characters, local co-op, and a dynamic mission-select system that changes how each level is played based on your order, Double Dragon offers tons of replayability and special bonuses to keep the game fresh with your friends for months, if not years.

Throw done like it’s the 90’s again, as the Double Dragon is back in this new beat ’em up where you and a friend can take the city back one district at a time, but with much more abilities and tag-team combos!
Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons brings back the series’ classic pixel aesthetic and enhances it for the modern era with new sprites, and animations. The game features 13 playable characters, and players can now select not just their main character, but also a tag-team partner. Switch between your partners seamlessly during combat, or execute special moves with the pair to devastate the gang members.
As you progress you can unlock new missions, with each area you choose to take on having special objectives to grant even more bonuses. As you select each area, the other ones you didn’t pick up on become stronger, making the order you take on stages become a key factor in how you progress as you can decide on your own difficulty curve!
As you progress you’ll earn money you can spend on useful upgrades, and you can earn even more money with the game’s Crowd Control KO system, granting you even more money and completing dynamic missions if you manage to finish off multiple enemies with your powerful attacks!
