The Aprils Fool’s jokes keep becoming a reality, as the Yohane the Parhelion / Genjitsu no Yohane spin-off of Love Live featuring Yoshiko Tsushima is getting a 2D-Pixel action game, called Yohane The Parhelion: BLAZE in the DEEPBLUE!
The game has players controlling Yohane as she enters a mysterious underwater dungeon with her partner Lailaps, and has to rescue all of her missing friends in this Metroidvania! As you rescue more of your friends and explore you’ll be granted new abilities that can be used both for combat, and exploration!
The game launches for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

▍About Yohane the Parhelion: Blaze in the Deepblue
Blaze in the Deepblue is a 2D action game set in the fantasy world of Yohane the Parhelion, and this time it’s up to her and you to rescue all of her friends trapped in the monster-infested underwater labyrinth, using her skills, magic, items, and potions she can craft as she collects materials and its equipment!
The game features a real-time combat system and hack-and-slash gameplay, very reminiscent of the Metroidvania genre. As you rescue your friends you’ll be given new abilities that you can use to aid in exploration and combat, and you can also call upon them and talk to them while you explore!
As you explore the labyrinth you will also uncover its many secrets, from ruins of ancient temples, sunken ships, old civilizations, and much more.
The game features some random elements too, as in the dungeon there are certain rooms that have their layouts and content randomized, so you’ll need to stay on your toes as you explore the labyrinth lest you be caught off guard by a new enemy or hazard!
There’s no need to fear though as Yohane can combine the materials she earns from enemies to craft weapons and accessories, meaning the random rooms you encounter could be pivotal to your playthrough as it can grant you new items way earlier than you’d expect! The game even features over 90 crafting recipes, allowing for tons of variation in your gameplay.
