At yesterday’s Future Games Show at Gamescom 2023, Publisher PQube and developer Dual Effect revealed that a sequel to the survival horror title Tormented Souls II will be launching in 2024. They also revealed a teaser trailer showing the series protagonist Caroline Walker stepping foot into shadow-drenched corridors of monasteries as she desperately tries to save her curse-afflicted sister.
After the events of Tormented Souls, Caroline yearns for a normal life. However, fate has other plans and Caroline’s sister Anna falls victim to a mysterious affliction. Conventional remedies prove futile as Anna slips in and out of consciousness, only waking to cough up inky globs of blood. With nowhere else to turn, Caroline looks to the supernatural and an ancient, forbidden ritual…
Caroline finds herself this time in Puerto Miller, a remote South American community with a disturbing past, which was founded centuries ago by the secretive Ismuit tribe, a religious order that spurned connection with the outside world. But beneath the town’s crumbling façade lies an ancient, unspeakable horror.
Players will have to guide Caroline through the shadowy halls of an infamous monastery and stumble into nightmarish locations seemingly from another world.
Much like its survival-horror inspirations, the gameplay of Tormented Souls II features intricate puzzles that will block the player’s path as they make their way deeper into the monastery. Item management and problem-solving are paired together with pulse-pounding combat against foes in claustrophobic environments that will test the player’s ability to survive.

Tormented Souls II is set to launch in 2024 and will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, GOG.com, and Epic Games Store.
