Netflix has announced today (31st January) that they will be working with Japanese animation studios Production I.G and bones to being more Japanese anime content to their users across over 190 different countries in the world!

President of Production I.G Mitsuhisa Ishikawa (石川光久) comments “We are happy that this partnership will be able to bring high-quality Japanese anime to the rest of the world through Netflix. To anime creators, being able to break through the language barrier and have their work appreciated by audiences across the world is a great thing.”

on the other hand, the president of bones, Masahiko Minami (南雅彦), commented “regarding this partnership, being able to bring our work to the rest of the world is definitely a meaningful milestone to creators. From now on, together with Netflix, we will continue to bring new heartwarming stories for audiences of all ages and ethnicity.”

Additionally, Vice President, Content Acquisition at Netflix, Robert Roy stated that Japanese anime’s deep stories and brilliant animations are globally renowned. through the partnership with Production I.G and bones, we hope the Netflix can bring Japanese anime to different parts of the world, regardless of language and region to promote Japanese anime culture and to raise Japanese anime awareness creating a win-win-win situation for users, anime creators, and producers.
