Today (5th March), Capcom announced that Monster Hunter World physical and digital copy has shipped over 7.5 million worldwide, making it not only the best selling Monster Hunter title but also the best selling title in Capcom history! The previous holder of Capcom’s best selling title belonged to Biohazard 5 which sold 7.3 million.
Monster Hunter World is the first title in the monster hunter series to completely remove “Zones” in each environment, creating an open-world experience for the players. Using enhanced AI and physics behavior, the new title introduces a living ecosystem to the series, throughout hunts, monsters will not only interact with hunters but also with other monsters, from hunting smaller monsters to all out “turf war” between large monsters.
Monster Hunter World is already available on PS4 and Xbox One Worldwide. A PC version is scheduled for release this Fall! Monster Hunter World is exclusively available on PS4 in Japan.
