Just earlier, Capcom has released an announcement video revealing a Monster Hunter World x Devil Mau Cry collaboration!
In the upcoming collaboration, Hunters will be able to don the garbs of Capcom’s iconic Demon Hunter, Dante, from Devil May Cry and wield his signature blades Force Edge and Alastor!
From the video, it is seen that the weapons share the same animations as the Charge Blade, however, it doesn’t come with a shield. In Capcoms blog post, it is explained that the weapons are indeed Charge Blades, however, Capcom has given them a special twist. The shield has been replaced with glowing runes. The sword and shield element of the weapon sees hunters wielding Force Edge in one hand and feature glowing runes on the other. When transforming into axe mode, the weapon changes to the iconic Alastor.
No information has been given as to when the collaboration will be released, but Yuri Araujo, creator of the capcom blog post teased that ” I, for one, cannot wait to wield one of these and slash a Deviljho in the face…”. Perhaps the two will be coming to the game at the same time in the near future?!
