Following up on Weekly Shonen Jump’s leaked pages about Kimetsu no Yaiba’s anime adaption, the news is officially announced on the magazine today.
The leaked page came out last week, but before that fans already found out about the news when the anime site got registered on 5th May. The teaser site opens today to show an anime visual illustrated by Ufotable, which is known for animating the Fate anime series. This is the first time the studio produces an anime for a Jump manga.
Kimetsu no Yaiba is written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge (吾峠呼世晴) . The description by Kimetsu no Yaiba’s English publisher reads…
“In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life.”
The premiere schedule is not confirmed yet.
