Today (27th June), GungHo announced and launched a new location-based Yo-Kai Watch mobile game titled Yo-Kai Watch World. The game is already available for download for fans who are dying to try it out, however, please note that the experience may be restricted for players outside of Japan.
Yo-Kai Watch World is a commemorative game made by the creators of Puzzle and Dragons, GungHo, and Level5 in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Yo-Kai Watch series. The game is developed using Unity and works using Google Maps services.
During the company’s one hour presentation, Google’s Director of Product Management made an appearance to show off a unique feature of the game which converts data from Google Maps to core elements of the game.
In terms of gameplay, players will be able to encounter different events whilst roaming
in the real world. They will be able to send out different yo-kai for combat.
Additionally, GungHo also revealed upcoming collaborations the game will be receiving, including a collaboration with Puzzle and Dragons.
