After Anime Expo, here we are in one of the biggest anime events in Hong Kong – ACGHK 2018!
The city’s anime event is very “Japanese” – they sell Fukubukuro like the Japanese do. Fukubukuro is a merch bag that contains various items usually from the same product line. Amid the local Fukubukuro shopping craze, we manage to get THREE BAGS, A TOTAL OF 10 ITEMS, to reward our devoted users!
Actually, the soon-to-be freebies don’t come easy. Here is how we get them…
QooApp as a professional in the industry got in before everyone did. We walked around and memorised the big Fukubukuro shopping place, such as MediaLink and Kadokawa.
And we saw some awesome Dragon Ball figures one our way. This place had so many cool figures and perfect distractions…
Guess what? We found some of our favourite mobile games in the event! Girls’ Frontline had a big merch shop – oh yeah…one more place to wait in line for hours.
When ACGHK officially started, people came rushing in for time-limited goods as well as a perfect spot for viewing stage events. Everyone could BARELY move inside the venue. There were way too many visitors and our shopping challenge became incredibly hard to complete.
What made it even more difficult to get our job done is that we had a meeting with Neon Genesis Evangelion’s opening “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” singer Yoko Takahashi in the middle of the day – the time when everybody was already busy queuing for events and goods!
But this was a crazily rare chance…please accept our apologies for putting this meeting over your gifts.
