The first movie of Gen Urobochi and Akira Amano’s Psycho-Pass movie trilogy, Sinners of the System, has recently been confirmed to reach cinemas in Japan on 25th January 2019.

■ Case 1: “Sins and Punishment”

The first movie, “Case 1: Sins and Punishment” will focus on Mika Shimotsuki (CV: Ayane Sakura) and Nobuchika Ginoza (CV: Nojima Kenji). Set in the Winter of 2117, an out-of-control vehicle drives into a building. Izumi Yuzaka, the driver, is a psychological counselor at the isolation facility for latent criminals in the Aomori prefecture. An inspector, Mika Shimotsuki, and an enforcer, Nobuchika Ginoza, is sent to Aomori for Yuzaka’s repatriation, but what awaits them is a “false paradise”. 25th January 2019.

■ Case.2 “First Guardian”

Focus on Teppei Sugo (CV: Tochi Hiroki) and Tomomi Masaoka (CV: Kinryu Arimoto). Set in the summer of Okinama in the year 2112, Teppi Sugo takes part in the 15th Joint Task Force of the National Defense Forces. After three months, unmanned armed drones attacks Tokyo and the Ministry of Defense. In order to get to the bottom of these attacks, Tomomi Masaoka, en enforcer at the Criminal Investigation Department’s Division 1 joins Sugo at the National Defense military base to solve the case. 15th February 2019.

■ Case.3 “To the Other Side of Mercy and Revenge (lit.)”

Focus on Shinya Kogami (CV: Seki Tomokazu). Following the events of Psycho-Pass: The Movie, Shinya Kogami continues to wander the Southeast Asian Union. In a small South Asian country, Kogami rescues a bus carrying refugees that is being attacked by armed guerrillas. On the bus is a girl named Tenzing, who begs Kogami to teach her how to fight in order to take revenge. 8th March 2019.

About the Series

The original TV anime first aired in 2012 follows how a group of elite police officers called Enforcer tackles crime by monitoring every citizen’s Crime Coefficient, an index that indicate the likelihood of an individual committing a crime. Two TV anime seasons and an anime movie have been produced so far.
