TV Anime In/Spectre Reveals New PV and January, 2020 Premiere

Mr. Qoo

TV anime adaptation of Kyo Shirodaira (城平京) and Chasiba Katase’s (片瀬茶柴) supernatural manga In/Spectre (虚構推理) recently revealed a new PV. It is scheduled to premiere on January, 2020.

The PV portraits the supernatural world of the anime, together with the voice of Akari Kitō (鬼頭明里) and Mamoru Miyano (宮野真守), who star as Kotoko Iwanaga (岩永琴子) and Kuro Sakuragawa (桜川九郎) respectively.

Endride director Keiji Gotoh (後藤圭二) is directing the anime at Brains Base, while Kuroko’s Basketball’s scriptwriter Noboru Takagi (高木 登) is in charge of the series scripts. Uso to Chamaeleon (嘘とカメレオン) will write and perform the series’ opening theme song, but the title is not revealed yet.

At the young age of 11, Kotoko Iwanaga was abducted by youkai (Japanese monsters) for two weeks and asked to become their “God of Wisdom,” a mediator between the spirit and human worlds, to which the girl quickly agreed but at the cost of her right eye and left leg.

Now, six years later, whenever youkai wish for their problems to be solved, they make their way to Kotoko for consultation. Meanwhile, Kurou Sakuragawa, a 22-year-old university student, has just broken up with his girlfriend after he fled alone when the two encountered a kappa (a turtle-like monster).

Kotoko, who has feeling on Kurou, immediately makes her move and offers to help him. However, she quickly realizes there is something more to Kurou. With this knowledge, she asks for his help in solving the various issues presented by the supernatural, all the while wishing her newfound partner will eventually reciprocate her feelings.
