Live-action movie of Fujita’s Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku (ヲタクに恋は難しい) revealed a 30 seconds teaser video and a new visual, drawing you into the world of Otaku!

The all-star cast includes Mitsuki Takahata (高畑 充希) and Kento Yamazaki (山﨑 賢人) as double lead to play Narumi Momose (桃瀬成海) and Hirotaka Nifuji (二藤宏嵩); Nanao as Hanako Koyanagi (小柳花子); and Takumi Saitou as Tarō Kabakura (樺倉太郎).
The romantic comedy will be directed by Gintama live-action movie’s director Yuichi Fukuda (福田雄一) and distributed by Toho. The film will open on 7th February, 2020.
▍Plot
The movie will focus on Narumi Momose, a female office worker who usually hides her fujoshi otaku lifestyle from her co-workers. However, in her new workplace, Narumi meets her old childhood friend, Hirotaka, a handsome and capable man who is also a game otaku. The two seem perfect for each other and Narumi suggests that they should date each other. But it turns out that love is extremely difficult for otaku.
▍About the Series
The manga was first posted on online artist platform Pixiv in 2014 and later began serialization in Comic Pool due to its popularity. Ichijinsha (一迅社) published the manga in print a year after and seven volumes have been published as of March 2019.
The manga was ranked first in the 2016 edition of Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook and was nominated for the 41st Kodansha Manga Award in the Best General Manga category. In 2017, it won the Web Manga General Election. An anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures aired from April to June 2018
