[Qoo News] Tokyo Mew Mew is Coming Back (As Male)!

The monthly shojo manga magazine Nakayoshi (なかよし) announced today (27th November) that the Tokyo Mew Mew (東京ミュウミュウ) Franchise will have a new manga series named “Tokyo Mew Mew Ore” (東京ミュウミュウ オーレ), but the Mew Mews (cats) are all male this time.

This new series is written and illustrated by Madoka Seizuki (青月まどか). It will be serialized again in Nakayoshi from 30th November 2019 (Vol.1, 2020). The first chapter (Title: We become…… Heroes!!?) will have 62 pages with a special color page to kick it off.

About Tokyo Mew Mew

Tokyo Mew Mew is originally a manga series written by Reiko Yoshida (吉田玲子) and illustrated by Mia Ikumi (征海未亜). It had been serialized from 2000 to 2003 and inspired a 52-episode TV anime (2002-2003). Ikumi then created a sequel manga titled “Tokyo Mew Mew a la Mode” (東京ミュウミュウあ・ら・もーど) from 2003 to 2004.

The story centers around Cafe Mew Mew, a cafe in Tokyo where the owner Ryo Shirogane (白金稜) and his friend Keiichirô Akasaka (赤坂圭一郎) use as the base to protect the world from alien invasion. They infused five girls with the DNA of endangered species (Mew Mew) to combat aliens……
