During the IDOLiSH7 fan appreciation event in Osaka on 14th December, it confirmed that the anime’s second season is titled “IDOLiSH7 Second BEAT!” (アイドリッシュセブン Second BEAT!) and the show will premiere in April 2020. It also revealed the music videos for “Mr.AFFECTiON” by IDOLiSH7 and “Bang!Bang!Bang!” by ŹOOĻ yesterday (16th December).
Most of the staff and cast from the previous season are returning. Makoto Bessho (別所誠人) is again the director and Ayumi Sekine (関根アユミ) is handling the scripts. Ei Aoki (あおきえい) is also back as the supervisor. Arina Tanemura (種村有菜) and Kazumi Fukagawa (深川可純) are in charge of the original character design and animation character design respectively.

IDOLiSH7, ŹOOĻ, Re:vale, and TRIGGER’s new singles will be released each week starting from 8 January 2020. For now, we can have a peek of the songs by IDOLiSH7 and ŹOOĻ in the new music videos.

According to the key visual for the second season on the official website, the story is expected to center around Re:vale and how their stages encourage the growth of IDOLiSH7 and TRIGGER.

It is originally an idol-raising rhythm game published by BANDAI NAMCO. It was first released in Japan in 2015 and has inspired its first TV anime adaptation in 2018.

■ “Mr.AFFECTiON” by IDOLiSH7
It is produced by the animation studio Orange (有限会社オレンジ) (Black Bullet, Land of the Lustrous). The MV puts emphasis on the VFX. It has meticulous attention to music, dance, scenes, and special effects.
■ “Bang!Bang!Bang!” by ŹOOĻ
It is produced by the animation studio Ufotable (ユーフォーテーブル) (Fate/Zero, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu). The music video presents ŹOOĻ’s strong yet delicate moves and actions.
