BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment hit media franchise “The IDOLM@STER” announced a new game, “The IDOLM@STER Starlit Season” (アイドルマスター スターリットシーズン), which is set to release on PS4 and PC via Steam in 2020.
In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the franchise, the video game collects characters from “The IDOLM@STER”, “The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls”, “The IDOLM@STER Million Live!”, and “The IDOLM@STER: Shiny Colors”.
The idol groups from the four agencies will join in the new “LUMINOUS Project”. Players will serve as the producer of the project and you are asked to create a new unit to participate in the Starlit Season festival. A new journey thus begins as the idols compete against each other to perform at the opening of the new Starlit Dome.
A total of 22 idols will appear in the game, but the characters all not fully revealed.

Unfortunately, characters from IDOLM@STER sideM are not included in the lineup. Producer Sakagami Yōzō (坂上陽三) explained that the 15th-anniversary project is organized long before and other characters will appear in the game under other circumstances.
The idol-nurturing simulation game utilizes Unreal Engine 4, which aims to provide “ultimate idol visual representations”.
Players will have to lead the idols to participate in the 10-month training and assist them to win the heart of the fans. The idols will participate in different live performances in order to join the opening performance of the Starlit Season festival.
