The new anime project of 07th Expansion’s murder mysteries video game Higurashi When They Cry (ひぐらしのなく頃に) revealed the returning cast members from the game and previous anime series.
Sōichiro Hoshi (保志総一朗) is returning to play Keiichi Maebara (前原 圭一), and Mai Nakahara (中原麻衣) is playing Rena Ryūgū (竜宮レナ).
“Fruit of Grisaia ” and “Monogatari” anime series’ Akio Watanabe (渡辺 明夫) is designing the characters. The project is animated by Passione and is produced by Infinite.
▍Stage Event in Anime Japan2020
The anime project is confirmed to join a stage event in AnimeJapan 2020 on 21st March in the MOON YELLOW stage in Tokyo Big Sight. Main cast Sōichiro Hoshi and Mai Nakahara, as well as 07th Expansion mangaka Ryukishi07 (竜騎士07). More information is expected to reveal in the event

▍About Higurashi When They Cry
Higurashi When They Cry (ひぐらしのなく頃に) is a Japanese murder mystery dōjin visual novel series produced by 07th Expansion. The first game in the series, Onikakushi-hen, was released in 2002, and the eighth and final game in the original PC series, Matsuribayashi-hen, was released in 2006.
Two anime television series produced by Studio Deen aired in 2006 and 2007; a third anime adaptation was released as an original video animation (OVA) series in 2009.
