The live-action film adaptation of Kaiu Shirai (白井 カイウ) and Posuka Demizu (出水 ぽすか) shonen manga “The Promised Neverland” (約束のネバーランド) reveals two more casts.
Japanese TV drama “Hero” and “Your Home is My Business!” series actress Keiko Kitagawa (北川 景子), right above, will play Isabella (also known as Mama), who is the caretaker of the orphanage. Comedian Naomi Watanabe (渡辺 直美) will play Krone, who helps Isabella to take care of the children.
As previously announced, “Let Me Eat Your Pancreas” actress Minami Hamabe (浜辺 美波) stars Emma, while actor Jyo Kairi (城桧吏) stars Ray, and Rihito Itagaki (板垣 李光人) stars Norman. The movie is directed by Yūichirō Hirakawa (平川雄一朗), who is known to direct the “Rookies” series and live-action movie “Erased”.
The story follows a group of orphaned children in their escape plan from an orphanage, which secretly supplies kids to feed the demons. Isabella first appears as a loving and affectionate mother towards the children but holds this dirty secret in the dark. The intellectual battle between Isabella and the children will be the highlight.
The movie is scheduled to premiere on 18th December 2020 in Japan.
