The anime adaptation of SEGA Games’ “Sakura Wars” (新サクラ大戦) has revealed the opening and ending video of the anime series, “Sakura Wars the Animation”. It is confirmed to premiere on 3rd April 2020.
The videos preview the opening theme song “Geki! Teikoku Kagekidan – Shinshо̄”, performed by cast members Ayane Sakura, Maaya Uchida, Hibiku Yamamura, Ayaka Fukuhara, and Saori Hayami.
The other casts, Nana Mizuki , Manami Numakura, and Sumire Uesaka are performing the ending theme song, “Sakura Yumemishi”.

▍ Story
The stage is set in a romanticized version of 1940s Imperial Tokyo. 10 years ago, a cataclysm resulted in the devastating loss of the Imperial Combat Revue of Tokyo, the capital’s global defense force operating out of the Imperial Theater. The theater has since fallen on hard times and risks closure.
The adventure starts as the protagonist, Seijuro Kamiyama, newly joins as the captain of the Imperial Combat Revue’s all-female-member Flower Division. He must lead the struggling Imperial Combat Revue through a worldwide tournament of Combat Revues and fight the demons once again.
▍ Staff and Production
“Sword Art Online: Alicization” director Manabu Ono (小野學) will direct the anime and write the script together with Tatsuhiko Urahata (浦畑達彦) at Sanzigen, based on the original work of Oji Hiroi (廣井照久). The main characters are designed by BLEACH mangaka Tite Kubo (久保帯人).
