In January 2020, a new anime adaptation for the massively popular idol series “Love Live!” announced a new TV anime adaptation during the Love Live! Ninth Anniversary live-stream. Today (15th May), the series’ official website revealed the first look at the main characters.
The new adaptation will be created by original staff including Takahiko Kyogoku, the director of the original Love Live! School idol project, Yoshiaki Fujisawa who will return as the composer for the music. Hajime Yatate, the pseudonym of Sunrise animation staff is also credited for original work. Sakurako Kimino is once again credited for original concept, as per the previous Love Live! anime adaptations.

▍About Love Live!
“Love Live!” is a multimedia project co-developed by Sunrise, Lantis, and ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki G Magazine. The project revolves around a group of nine schoolgirl friends who become idols in order to save their school from shutting down.
A 13-episode anime television series produced by Sunrise, aired between January and March 2013, with a second season airing between April and June 2014. An animated film titled “Love Live! The School Idol Movie” was distributed by Shochiku and released in June 2015. A follow-up project focusing on a new set of idols, titled “Love Live! Sunshine!!”, launched in 2015.
