Square Enix confirms that the smartphone game “Kingdom Hearts Dark Road” (キングダム ハーツ ダーク ロード) will be released on 22nd June 2020. A new trailer has also been revealed and the game will follow the story of how Xehanort becomes the franchise’s most notorious villain.

■ Xehanort
Xehanort left his homeland after encountering a mysterious man. In order to become a key blader, he studies hard together with his classmates. He possesses strong curiosity and uses to observe the others from distances.
■ Eraqus
Eraqus is a classmate of Xehanort and they learn together to become key bladers. He may look like a fun-loving flapper but always comes up with important insights. He befriends Xehanort as they compete with each other on chess.
■ Hermod
Hermod is another classmate of Xehanort. He is gentle and a well-behaved student. He likes to take care of others and is pretty much the leader of the class.
■ Urd
Urd is a young girl and Xehanort’s classmate. She is calm and cautious and showcases talents to become a key blader. She is extremely reliable for her classmates.
■ Bragi
Bragi is another classmate of Xehanort. He challenged Xehanort one day to test his talent as a key blader, hiding the fact that he was looking for Xehanort’s advice. He has a cold face and a hot-blooded heart.
■ Vor
Vor is a young girl and Xehanort’s classmate. She has great magic potential but decides not to use it to avoid disputes. She talks slowly but is unexpectedly powerful. She is also the mood maker of the class.
■ Master Odin
Odin is a mysterious keyblade master who trains the next generation to become a key blader. His hat hides his eagle eyes.
▍Overview
The game features “Exhilarating” × “Reflex” × “Flick” speedy battles, where players will be able to select different cards to unleash skills, and the cards with the same elements will unleash more powerful attacks. The game will be launched in the same app as “Kingdom Hearts Union χ”, which started service on 3rd September 2015.
