Capcom has released the opening movie for Monster Hunter Double Cross (MHXX), the latest 3DS title for the renowned Monster Hunter series. Alongside the new opening, Capcom also released a new collaboration trailer for the Monster Hunter Double Cross x HunterxHunter collaboration.
The new opening kicks off with Monster Hunter 3’s Barioth against 3 hunters. The scene reintroduces the Ice Tusk Wyvern and shows off the new beast mode for Palicos. The opening ends with a teaser for new title’s flagship monster, the Barufaruku, the new Elder Dragon being introduced in Monster Hunter Double Cross.

The Monster Hunter Double Cross x HunterxHunter collaboration will introduce the Gon Armor series which brings Gon’s raging adult form into the game.
For those who are unfamiliar with HunterxHunter, HunterxHunter is a manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi. The series was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 1998. The story revolves around a young boy, Gon Freecss, who’s aim is to follow the footsteps of his father who is a world-renowned Hunter.
Gon’s adult form was introduced in the sixth story arc, the Chimera Ant arc, when Gon fights Neferupito, one of the three royal guards of the Chimera Ant King.
