TOHO animation announced that Saekisan’s The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten light novel series is getting a TV anime adaptation. A teaser PV and key arts were revealed, together with information about the main staff and cast.
The series centers on high schooler Amane, who lives alone in an apartment, and the most beautiful girl in school, Mahiru, lives just next door. They’ve almost never spoken—until the day he sees her in distress on a rainy day and lends her his umbrella. To return the favour, she offers him help around the house, and a relationship slowly begins to blossom as the distance between them closes.
Taito Ban cast as Amane Fujimiya, Manaka Iwamias Mahiru Shiina, Taku Yashiro as Itsuki Akasawa, and finally, Haruka Shiraishi as Chitose Shirakawa.
The anime will be directed by Kenichi Imaizumi (Kingdom), with series composition by Keiichiro Ochi (Girlfriend, Girlfriend), character design by Takayuki Noguchi (Cinderella Nine), and music by Moe Hyuga. Project no.9 is animating the series.

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is a Japanese light novel series written by Saekisan and illustrated by Hanekoto. Originally published online on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, SB Creative has released five volumes of the series under their GA Bunko label since June 2019. Yen Press is the current holder of the license to publish the series in English. A manga adaptation will begin via Square Enix’s online manga magazine Manga UP! from January 2022.
