The official website for Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal, the anime adaptation of Square Enix’s Legend of Mana game, unveiled a brand-new trailer and key visual. The video also revealed details about the cast and production staff. The anime is scheduled to debut in 2022.

The story of Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal begins with Shilo, a young boy living near the town of Domina. One day, he began to hear a mysterious voice in his dreams, telling him that he had an important mission. One day, he meets two people known as the “Shumami”, once a race of people who were targeted because of the magical jewel ingrained in their chests, and many of them were killed. And now, the mysterious jewel thieves are attacking the races one after another in various parts of the world, and it is up to him to put a stop to their evil deeds.

Three cast members were also confirmed thus far: Shiloh will be voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki, Yuichiro Umehara will be voicing Ruri/Elazul and Kaori Nazuka will be the voice of Shinju-hime/Pearl.

About Legend of Mana

Legend of Mana (Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana) is the fourth game in Square’s Mana/Seiken Densetsu RPG series, after Trials of Mana, and it debuted on the PlayStation in 1999. The remastered version launched for the PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC in June 2021.

The original Seiken Densetsu -Final Fantasy Gaiden- (Final Fantasy Adventure) game debuted for Game Boy in 1991. Square released the Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana) game for Super Famicom (SNES) in Japan and North America in 1993. Square released the Seiken Densetsu 3 action role-playing game for Super Famicom in 1995.
