At the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, Respawn Entertainment announced Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for current-gen consoles Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. The game is a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and is set to release sometime in 2023.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor expands upon the story of Cal Kestis after his adventure in 2019’s Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. Taking place 5 years after the events of Fallen Order, the sequel hopes to expand upon the previous game’s combat, exploration elements, and story.
At the event, Respawn’s game director Stig Asmussen stated that they already had a vision for how to proceed with Star Wars Jedi Survivor even before they released Star Wars Fallen Order. He continues by saying they are working closely with Lucasfilm Games to build on Fallen Order’s legacy, using new technology to enhance the previous game’s dynamic combat and new ways for cinematic storytelling.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor takes place 5 years after the events of Fallen Order. Cal Kestis, still on the run from the Empire, begins to feel the pressure of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy. Allied with his trusty droid BD-1 and a cast of old, and new faces, Cal will need to master his control over the force to survive against the ever-growing threat of the Empire.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a video game released on the previous generations of consoles and PC. The game features combat reminiscent of the Souls series with an emphasis on evasion, analyzing enemy behavior, and difficult encounters. The game also has platforming sections and puzzles that can be solved using Cal’s numerous force powers, and the player is also free to tackle which areas of the galaxy they want to first, depending on what powers they have.
