It was announced that Yoshifumi Tozuka’s Undead Unluck<\/a><\/strong> supernatural manga is getting a TV anime adaptation next year. A teaser visual for the anime is also revealed in conjunction with the announcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The animation is produced by David Production, the same studio that produced JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Fire Force. The manga author Yoshifumi Tozuka also showcased a new illustration to celebrate the anime adaptation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a comment revealed by Yoshifumi, he expressed worries about having an anime adaptation for the series, “I have given up the dream for an anime as I don’t want to put mosaics on Andy every time he returns from the dead. But it seems that everything is ok now…”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undead Unluck\u00a0started with a\u00a0one-shot\u00a0chapter published in\u00a0Shueisha’s\u00a0Weekly Sh\u014dnen Jump\u00a0manga magazine in January 2019. <\/a><\/sup>The manga started its serialization in the 2020 8th issue of\u00a0Weekly Sh\u014dnen Jump\u00a0on January 20, 2020. <\/a><\/sup>Shueisha compiled its chapters into individual\u00a0tank\u014dbon\u00a0volumes on April 3, 2020.\u00a0As of May 2, 2022, eleven volumes have been published. In 2020,\u00a0Undead Unluck\u00a0won the 6th\u00a0Next Manga Award, placing 1st out of the 50 nominees with 31,685 votes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story centers on Fuuko Izumo, a young girl who has been living in seclusion for 10 years since an incident that left more than 200 people dead, including her parents, when she was eight years old. Following the completion of her favorite long-running girls’ manga series, Fuuko decides to commit suicide. She is tormented by the fact that she cannot be touched by anyone due to her “unluck” ability, which brings bad luck to anyone she comes into contact with in the flesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She meets an “undead” man who has amazing regenerative abilities and who desires to die the best death possible, disliking his immortal life. For the sake of convenience, Fuuko names him Andy because he is undead, and they begin to work together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
