Novelist and writer Zento Sakurame announced with a heavy heart that their light novel series, The Person Who Changed Us Problem Children Is Our Classmate Monaka-Senpai \/ Mondaiji no Watashi-tachi wo Kaeta no wa, Onaji Class no Monaka-senpai<\/a><\/strong> was cancelled, despite ranking 20 in the This Light Novel is Amazing! guidebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement was made on the Zento Sakurame’s Twitter account<\/strong><\/a>, with the author apologizing to all of the readers who kept up with the series that it couldn’t be finished, and that the Sakurame also really wanted to continue and finish the series and had several plans for it, but unfortunately was cancelled due to poor sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harioai the artist for the light novel series also drew an illustration accompanying the author’s announcement, thanking those that stuck with the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I have an unfortunate announcement to make. Although Mondaiji no Watashi-tachi wo Kaeta no wa, Onaji Class no Monaka-senpai recently won an award at This Light Novel is Amazing, it was cancelled due to its sales figures. I’m very sorry that things turned out in such a disappointing fashion for readers who were looking forward to its continuation. Thank you all for your support so far.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I myself am deeply saddened because I had plenty of chapters I wanted to write, and I had an outline for upcoming events to push the story to new heights. I’m extremely sorry as an author for squandering the support and opportunity my readers gave me by letting it end this way, and I will always treasure your thoughts and reviews.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m taking a huge amount of emotional damage as I write this announcement tweet. It’s just awful to leave a story hanging and for many that were excited about the next volume, especially after its positive results on the This Light Novel is Amazing awards, I’m sorry to say it won’t happen.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series was written by Zento Sakurame and illustrated by Harioai, and released two volumes, with the most recent one being released on September 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series follows a high-school sophomore Ao Monaka, a popular and good-looking young man with a beautiful girlfriend who was forced to stay out of school for one reason or another. When he finally returns, he is placed in a classroom full of problem children, and they are then sent on a school trip where they’ll be sent far away from home for quite some time. The series follows their classmates and Monaka as he solves and deals with many of the problems they face throughout the rest of their school life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
