Developed by Sega, supervised by the original owner Atlus,\u00a0Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei Liberation (D\u00d72 \u771f\u30fb\u5973\u795e\u8ee2\u751f\u30ea\u30d9\u30ec\u30fc\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3) is an upcoming mobile spin-off of the latter’s 25-year-old\u00a0Shin Megami Tensei (\u771f\u30fb\u5973\u795e\u8ee2\u751f) franchise. It is scheduled for release this year for free. At Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2017, Sega let visitors get a glimpse of the gameplay at the trial corner.<\/p>\n

Sega invited Psycho-Pass writer Makoto Fukami for the screenplay and\u00a0Ace Attorney character designer\u00a0<\/b><\/i>Kasuga Takeshi for the character\u00a0artworks. The heroes in this new title\u00a0are called Liberators who possess a\u00a0devil downloader called Dx2. They can summon devils and make use of the latter’s power to protect the world. Like the previous works in the series, the male protagonist is nameless.<\/p>\n

The system is faithful to\u00a0Shin Megami Tensei’s classic turn-based RPG model – negotiation, devil fusion, skill inheritance centric. Each map consists of a chapter of the story and different story quests. Players are able to choose from normal, hard, and maniac difficulty. It costs stamina to enter a quest.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u25b2\u00a0Game trial<\/em><\/p>\n

Players lead a team of four devils and take turn to\u00a0fight against other devils. Each one of them can be classified into seven attributes. They may be resistant\/prone to certain types of attack due to their attributes. Damages received are borne by the members\u00a0instead of the leader. If an attack strikes an enemy’s weakness, players can get a bonus turn. Attacks use up a devil’s MP, but the MP gets a small replenishment after a successful turn. Players are able to pass a turn when necessary.<\/p>\n

Some floors even allow players to move around in three different modes.<\/p>\n

A devil can be acquired through negotiation and it has skills that can be awakened. To get a devil, players can spend some materials to fuse their existing devils to create a new one.<\/p>\n
