The Inokashira Park dismemberment incident<\/a>,\u00a0staff member\u00a0getting\u00a0robbed, company\u2019s printer printing strange symbols on its own – Shin\u00a0Megami Tensei is the sole reason why Atlus is linked to urban legends and misfortune.<\/p>\n

Atlus has been conducting an annual\u00a0shrine visit\u00a0since the first entry of the series was made in 1992. In February 2018, the staff visited\u00a0Zoshigaya Kishimojindo in Tokyo to pray to Kishimojin, a goddess who protects deliveries and nurturing of children, for the success of their coming\u00a0title, Shin Megami Tensei V (\u771f\u30fb\u5973\u795e\u8ee2\u751fV).<\/p>\n

Shin Megami Tensei V is no exception. The\u00a0production process is again involved in a series of strange events, producer\u00a0Kazuyuki\u00a0Yamai told\u00a04Gamer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Our computers got broken one after another.” These events are no stranger to Atlus. All\u00a0Shin\u00a0Megami Tensei games are rumoured to be associated with broken computers during productions. The producer recalled, “it occurred orderly as if\u00a0‘something’ passed through them.”<\/p>\n

Some staff member was concerned by this unexplainable phenomenon and believed it was\u00a0“time to pay tribute”.<\/p>\n

In this shrine\u00a0visit,\u00a0Yamai and his team\u00a0prayed that not only the staff, but also Shin Megami Tensei’s\u00a0players, would stay safe and healthy.<\/p>\n

They also had another purpose.<\/p>\n

“Our games are dealing with\u00a0gods and demons. It’s better to\u00a0let them know\u00a0beforehand.”<\/p>\n
