On 5th April 2018, Studio Ghibli lost one of the two skeleton\u00a0creators –\u00a0Isao Takahata (\u9ad8\u7551\u52f2). Born 29th October 1935, the legendary\u00a0director died at aged 82\u00a0in a Tokyo’s hospital.<\/p>\n

Rumor has it that Takahata was treated\u00a0in a hospital last year\u00a0due to a heart disease, but Studio\u00a0Ghibli says he died of lung cancer.<\/p>\n

“The Pom Poko”, “<\/i>Grave of the Fireflies”, “Heidi, a Girl of the Alps”,\u00a0and “The Tale of The Princess Kaguya” director founded Studio Ghibli\u00a0with his fellow animator Hayao Miyazaki and the then\u00a0Animage\u00a0editor\u00a0Toshio\u00a0Suzuki in 1985. Suzuki is responsible for production management while the two animators focus on writing stories and animation. Being an influential personnel in Japan’s creative\u00a0industry, Takahata has won numerous both locally and overseas. His movie “The Tale of The Princess Kaguya” was even nominated for\u00a0Oscar’s\u00a0Best Animated Feature Film.<\/p>\n
