Searching and Catching Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n This would obviously be the first step for any players who are going to play the game. Just like the very first Pok\u00e9mon game on our Gameboy console, player will need to travel in \u2018Grassy Area\u2019 to encounter Pok\u00e9mon. In Pok\u00e9mon GO, the process is similar, except that our whole world had become a big grassy area, and there are Pok\u00e9mon everywhere.<\/p>\n First, let\u2019s examine the interface of the game.<\/p>\n From the center of the player, a sonar wave will be emitted to detect Pok\u00e9mon hidden in the nearby surrounding. There will be some rustling grass animation on the map time by time, those animations represent Pok\u00e9mon around those area. But please do not assume you can expect Pok\u00e9mon to pop up when you arrived at the rustling grass area. The most accurate way to track down Pok\u00e9mon is by tapping the bottom right banner.<\/p>\n If player click on the bottom right corner, player can then see what the sensor had picked up.<\/p>\n There will be footprint under each nearby Pok\u00e9mon, these indicate the necessary distance the player have to travel to encounter the Pok\u00e9mon. 3 footprints represent means the Pok\u00e9mon is rather far away, approximately 300 meters (in 360 degree, which it can be 300 meters top, left, right or bottom). 2 footprints would be approximately 200 meters and 1 footprint will be approximately 100 meters away from the player. If there is no footprint under the Pok\u00e9mon, it will pop up any second if you stay still!<\/p>\n Once the player tap on the discovered Pok\u00e9mon, it will enter the catching interface.<\/p>\n If the player hold on to the Pok\u00e9ball, the player can then see a pale circle enclosing the Pok\u00e9mon, also a shrinking coloured circle collapsing on the Pok\u00e9mon. The coloured circle indicates the difficulty to capture this particular Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n Green = Easy The Pok\u00e9mon sometime will attack, rendering attempt to capture ineffective. The player\u2019s best bet would be to throw the Pok\u00e9ball when the colored circle have the biggest radius. It will give extra XP bonus if the Pok\u00e9mon is successfully captured.<\/p>\n Curve Ball<\/span> <\/strong>\u2013 Extra 10 XP Nice Throw<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Extra 10 XP Great Throw<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Extra 50 XP Excellent Throw<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Extra 100 XP Please be aware there will only be 1 bonus XP applied. For example, if a player achieved both a Curve Ball and a Great Throw, the Great Throw bonus XP exceeded the Curve Ball bonus XP, therefore the player will only receive 50 bonus XP from the Great Throw.<\/p>\n Obviously, if player achieve Excellent Throw, there is a great chance to catch the Pok\u00e9mon when compared to Great Throw, and the same logic apply for Great Throw and Nice Throw. However, Pok\u00e9ball wastage will be a serious concern for some player.<\/p>\n Pok\u00e9mon status, powering up and evolution<\/p>\n Once Pok\u00e9mon is captured, it will display the Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s profile.<\/p>\n Once captured, the player will obtain 3 (Pok\u00e9mon Name) candy and the following: Combat Power (CP)<\/strong> <\/span>:A measure of how strong the Pok\u00e9mon is when it comes to Pok\u00e9mon battle.<\/p>\n Type :<\/strong> <\/span>A particular group\/category the Pok\u00e9mon belongs in. It is possible for the Pok\u00e9mon to belong in 2 groups\/category.<\/p>\n Weight :<\/strong> <\/span>How heavy the Pok\u00e9mon is. This number varies with each individual Pok\u00e9mon. It will have extra label such as XL (extra-large) or XS (extra-small) if it fits the criteria. So far, Syndetira have not found any direct relation between CP and Weight, but future update of the game might make this feature special.<\/p>\n Height :<\/strong> <\/span>How tall the Pok\u00e9mon is. This number varies with each individual Pok\u00e9mon. It will have extra label such as XL (extra-large) or XS (extra-small) if it fits the criteria. So far, Syndetira have not found any direct relation between CP and Weight, but future update of the game might make this feature special.<\/p>\n Power Up :<\/strong> <\/span>Player can spend Stardust and Candy to increase the CP of the Pok\u00e9mon. The arch above the Pok\u00e9mon represent the growth potential for the Pok\u00e9mon. As the growth potential getting close to max out, the more stardusts and candies are required to power up the Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n Evolve :<\/strong> <\/span>Player can evolve the Pok\u00e9mon by spending candies. Pok\u00e9mon which can only evolve once would usually require 50 candies. (T.S.U.K.O.M.I: Intervene signal successfully, Niantic Inc\/Game Freak had deliberately made Magikarp\u2019s evolution particularly difficult, which requires 400 candies). Whereas Pok\u00e9mon that can evolve twice would most likely requires either 15 or 25 candies for the first evolution, and 50 or 100 candies for the final evolution.<\/p>\n Habitat Location Map :<\/strong> <\/span>The habitat location map will be attached in the bottom of the Pok\u00e9mon profile page. The map indicates the location of the player when he\/she captured this particular Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n Transfer :<\/strong> <\/span>Player can choose to transfer the Pok\u00e9mon to Professor Willow, the Pok\u00e9mon will be gone, however Professor Willow will reward the player with 1 candy (T.S.U.K.O.M.I: Treat you like a kid!)<\/p>\n Attacks and Abilities :<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Each Pok\u00e9mon comes with an attack and an abilities. However these attacks and abilities will varies between each individual. A more detailed explanation regarding on the attack and the ability will be provided in the gym battle section later on.<\/p>\n Pok\u00e9stop<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Pok\u00e9stop is the local interesting facility\/artifacts. From a far, it is a floating cube, it transform into a circle shape once the player come close to it. Tapping on the circle shape and flip the billboard will allow player to obtain various items such as Pok\u00e9ball, Pok\u00e9mon egg, potions and other items. It is crucial to know that Pok\u00e9stop recharges itself every 5-15 minutes, meaning player can only receive the items every 5-15 minutes.<\/p>\n Player can place item such as Lure Module on the Pok\u00e9stop to attract nearby Pok\u00e9mon. Making the encounter rate of Pok\u00e9mon increases for every player near the Pok\u00e9stop.<\/p>\n Pok\u00e9mon Egg<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Every now and then, player might receive a Pok\u00e9mon Egg from the Pok\u00e9stop. There are 3 types of Pok\u00e9mon Egg, the 2 KM, 5 KM and 10 KM. To hatch the egg, the player need to place the egg in an incubator, and must walk\/travel the specific distance (e.g. 2 KM stands for 2 Kilometers) while having the game app running. There will be one incubator given to all players at the start of the game. The player can use that incubator to incubate as many egg as he\/she want, however, one incubator can only incubate one egg at one time. You can purchase more incubator from the in-game shop and by leveling up your character.<\/p>\n The Pok\u00e9mon hatch from the Pok\u00e9mon egg can be any Pok\u00e9mon, though Syndetira Azerith had discovered that hatching the 10 KM Pok\u00e9mon egg has a higher chance to gives the player a better\/rarer Pok\u00e9mon compared to the 5 KM and 2 KM, and the same logic applies for the 5 KM egg compared with the 2 KM egg. After hatching the Pokemon egg, the player receives XP and a significant amount of stardusts and candies.<\/p>\n LEFT: From 10 KM Eggs ; RIGHT: From the 2 KM Eggs<\/p>\n Distinctive advantage of Player character level<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n As the player character gain XP, the player level will increase. With each level up, player will receive items such as Pok\u00e9ball, incense, lure module, potion and revive potion. As the player level become higher, the reward will also be better.<\/p>\n Player level 5: Able to choose a team to participate in gym battle. I will explain more in the later section.<\/p>\n Player level 8: Unlock new item \u201cRazz Berry\u201d, player can feed this to the Pok\u00e9mon and make it easier to capture on his\/her next Pok\u00e9ball throw. Once unlocked, this item can also be collected from Pok\u00e9stop.<\/p>\n Player level 10: Unlock new item \u201cSuper Potion\u201d. Super potion restore the Pok\u00e9mon HP by 50. Once unlocked, this item can also be collected from Pok\u00e9stop.<\/p>\n Player level 12: Unlock new item \u201cGreat Ball\u201d. Great Ball provides a higher catch rate than a normal Pok\u00e9ball. Once unlocked, this item can also be collected form Pok\u00e9stop.<\/p>\n So far, this is what Syndetira Azerith had identified. Therefore it will be a wise decision to level up player character level quickly to unlock more items from Pok\u00e9stop. Also, a higher player character level will allow the player to encounter rarer\/stronger Pok\u00e9mon; another reason to level up!<\/p>\n In-game Store<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Just like any other game app with in-game store, here is where the player can exchange in-game items with cash.
