\u258d<\/strong><\/span>Combat Guide & Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fans of the Bravely Default series will be happy to find that Bravely Default Brilliant Lights also follows a turn-based combat system where every hero in your team as well every enemy has an action value. The action value of all heroes decides the turn order of the fight. For example, if your heroes are at a higher action value than the enemy, then they will move first. Players can see this turn order by the character icon on the left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players will have to build a party of 4 heroes and fight against waves of enemies. Each hero has its own HP and MP, representing Health Points and Magic Points. A hero dies when its HP bar reaches 0. MP is used for using spells and the heroes will gain MP at each turn. Every hero has 3 different skills in their kit: Basic Attack<\/strong>, 1st Ability, and 2nd Ability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The basic attack does not consume any MP but is usually a weaker form of attack. The 1st ability of all heroes consumes between 26-50 MP depending on their class. For example, Support class heroes generally use more MP when they use their skills but they also have a greater total MP bar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2nd ability is also known as the Ultimate ability and is fully animated with special effects. Players can cast them if they have enough MP, but they generally cost a very high amount of MP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bravely Default Brilliant Lights also has a system called Brave Points. Players can accumulate 1 Brave Point when they choose not to attack their enemies and pass their turn. All heroes can have a maximum of 3 Brave Points, which can be used to gain up to 3 additional turns. This makes the battles more interesting as characters can take essentially 4 turns in a single turn when they have the Brave Mode on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional combat mechanics include the Break system where players can utilize certain abilities of heroes to break the enemy’s shield and even Stun then. The hero also has 2 turn Shields on them which can be broken with Shield-breaking abilities. After a hero\u2019s shield is broken, he is stunned for 1 turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
