Makoto Shinkai’s anime movie Your Name is now being considered for the 89th Academy Awards’ Best Animated Feature nomination, Funimation Films said on 7 November.
Your Name has earned $17.9 billion Yen since its opening in Japan. It is the highest grossing film of 2016 and the 7th highest grossing film so far in Japan. Funimation Films, who has acquired distribution rights of the movie in North America, said they were looking forward to releasing it in the said region in 2017.
