Square Enix’s upcoming original strategy RPG, The DioField Chronicle, unveiled a new release trailer featuring the game’s story, characters, and glimpses of gameplay. The game is coming to PS4, PS5, XPS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on September 22.

Diofield is set in a world blending fantasy, and World War II-Era technology. Stuck geographically in the war between Trovelt-Schoevian Empire and the Rowetale Alliance, the Kingdom of Alletain is thrust into war when the Empire ends up defeating the Alliance. Unwilling to hand over the Kingdom and all of its precious resources to the Empire, the Kingdom of Alletain recruits a mercenary group known as the “Blue Foxes”
Will the elite mercenaries be able to turn the tide of war and signify hope, or will their names be forever etched in tragedy?
▍The Diofield Chronicle Gameplay
The Diofield Chronicle features what Square Enix coins as a Real-Time Tactical Battle system, with players issuing commands to troops during battle, with characters on a board similar to dioramas. You will need to assess the situations and execute your strategies while getting real-time feedback from the battlefield.
