A special crossover talk corner featuring two of the biggest manga artist of the century, Detective Conan‘s Gosho Aoyama and One Piece‘s Eiichiro Oda, will be published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump No. 34 on July 25 and Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday No. 35 released on July 27.
The project is a celebration honoring both of the series exceeding 100 volumes this fall. In a previous interview in regards to the project, Aoyama said, “It might be interesting to talk with Oda-kun (laughs), considering that the 100th volume of One Piece is published almost at the same time as Detective Conan. Oda-kun and I are the only ones who continue to serialize the manga, as well as broadcast an anime every week. I would like to talk about various things as a comrade. ”
While Oda responded in a comment section, “I haven’t met Mr. Aoyama before, but he feels like a comrade to me as we all know the hardship of publishing manga to its 100th volume.” The first part of the crossover talk will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump, and the second part will be published in Weekly Shonen Sunday. Along with this announcement, a teaser movie commemorating the project was also released.
