The Tale of Outcasts Anime’s 1st Trailer Reveals Staff, Cast and January 2023 Debut

At the Crunchyroll Expo 2022, The Tale of Outcasts anime reveals the first trailer, the main staff, and cast. The anime series will debut in January 2023.

Ayana Taketatsu will be the voice of Wisteria, the protagonist, and Katsuyuki Konishi will voice Marbas, the demon-like figure that takes care of her. Additionally, Ryōta Ōsaka will voice one of the knights, Snow.

The Tale of the Outcasts is originally a manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Hoshino. It was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday from August 2019 to April 2021, with its chapters collected in eight tankōbon volumes.

The story is a “dark night story” set in the British Empire at the end of the 19th century, which begins when Wisteria, an orphan girl who has been holding on to her life as a street beggar, meets Marbas, a demon who is bored with his immortality and decides to take her under his protection.
