The TV anime adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man dark fantasy manga finally gets a release date on October 11! Crunchyroll will streams the series as it airs in Japan.
The animation studio MAPPA is also hosting a live stream of a special on-stage speech event featuring the anime’s main cast and director Ryu Nakayama to celebrate its premiere in Japan on September 19. The event is also said to announce some “major news” during the speech portion. Those who are interested in the event can view it from the official Youtube channel.
The series follows Denji, a 16-year-old boy abandoned by his father and has to pay off his debts to the Yakuza. After he meets a tiny devil named Pochita, he becomes a devil hunter for the Yakuza to clear his debt. After a series of mishaps and gruesome violence, Denji is then recruited by Makima from the Public Safety Division to hunt devils for them.
The previously announced cast includes Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, Shogo Sakata as Aki Hayakawa, and Fairouz Ai as Power.
