Based off the Japanese manga of the same title by Tsugumi Ohba (大場 つぐみ), another live action Death Note (デスノート) movie is coming next month. According to the trailer released yesterday, this adaption will be much different from the previous adaptions.
Except that the characters and the setting have become westernised, the plot is roughly the same. Light Tuner (Nat Wolff) is a clever high school student who comes across the Death Note and uses it to kill criminals whom he believes deserve death under the name Kira. L (Keith Stanfield) is an extremely intelligent detective and the only one who is able to track Kira down and stop him.
The movie will premiere on Netflix in 190 countries on 25th August, 2017.
The title’s Japanese live action series starring Tatsuya Fujiwara as Kira and Kenichi Matsuyama as L has already got four movies.
