UserJoy Japan announced that a smartphone RPG based on the anime The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War is currently in production, with a planned launch in 2023 in Japan.
The game will feature a story mode based on the events of the anime, along with a new playable story and unique characters. The ARCUS II system from Trails of Cold Steel III is also featured in this title, with players being able to explore the world while advancing through the story.
UserJoy is also responsible for The Legend of Heroes: Akatsuki no Kiseki mobile game which is still live since its initial release in 2016, so hopefully this title will get a similar amount of love from the developers.
The game also released a map of the world Northern War is set in, with the story taking place in the North Ambria state located in the Northwestern part of Zemuria.
▍About The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War
Trails of Cold Steel Northern War follows the events of the game in a time skip between Trails of Cold Steel II and III. The game follows Lavian Winslet, a young girl born in Northern Ambria, an impoverished region of the Zemurian continent.
Lavian is actually the granddaughter of Vlad, a renowned hero who betrayed North Ambria. With the help of the largest mercenary group around the Northern Jaegers, she will reclaim her country’s honour and defend her country in a reckless mission against the Erebonian Empire.
The anime series is set to debut on January 8.
