HoYoverse held the usual special program for the Genshin Impact Version 3.4 update “The Exquisite Night Chimes” yesterday revealing the new content that is coming alongside the new version, including the new events and upcoming banners. The Lantern Rite will once again be held in Liyue, so the version events will focus heavily on this region of Teyvat. The 3.4 Ver. will release on January 18, 2023, and runs for six weeks until around March 1, 2023. The 5-star Dendro swordsman Alhaitham will headline the update’s first round of character banners, with Xiao, the Anemo polearm user, making his fourth return.

▍Genshin Impact 3.4 – New Banners & Characters
As in previous versions, Ver.3.4 will have two phases featuring four ★5 characters.
The new Dendro characters, ★4 Yaoyao -Burgeoning Grace- (EN CV: Kelsey Jaffe, JP CV: Kadowaki Mai) and ★5 Alhaitham -Admonishing Instruction- (EN CV: Nazeeh H. Tarsha, JP CV: Umehara Yuuichirou), will make their debut in this new version appearing in the first phase of the event wishes.
Yaoyao is a Polearm Dendro support-focused character and is better at healing allies than in combat itself, she was Xiangling’s junior disciple under Madame Ping’s teachings in martial arts, but has since become Ganyu’s assistant.
Alhaitham is a Sword Dendro DPS, who uses Chisel-Light Mirrors in battle, by activating the elemental skill he can generate shining mirrors around him and convert his attacks into Dendro elemental damage. He is a member of the Haravatat of the Sumeru Akademiya and a scribe, responsible for documenting his findings and writing ordinances. The Vultur Volans chapter is the upcoming story quest for Alhaitham.
The first phase of the wish events will feature Alhaitham and Xiao as promotional characters, both banners featuring Yaoyao. The second phase will bring back Hu Tao and Yelan, being the first rerun of Yelan’s banner since her first appearance in May 2022.
▍Genshin Impact 3.4 – New Weapon
Light of Foliar Incision, the ★5 Sword designed for Alhaitham will be available in the weapons banner.
Its substat will add Critical Damage percentage, while his passive ability will slightly increase the CRIT Rate percentage and will also increase normal and elemental skill damage based on the character’s elemental mastery.
▍Genshin Impact Version 3.4 New Area
Hadramaveth Desert, which will appear in Ver. 3.4, is a new area in Sumeru filled with new enemies and dangerous zones, characterized by huge ruins embedded in cliffs, thorns, giant vines, and caves formed by sharp rocks.
