The official Sailor Moon YouTube channel started streaming the official trailer for Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos, the two-part anime film project that will adapt the Shadow Galactica arc of Naoko Takeuchi’s original Sailor Moon manga. The trailer also gives a preview of the film’s theme song “Moon’s Flower” (月の花) performed by Daoko.
Tomoya Takahashi is directing both films at Toei Animation. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is returning as the scriptwriter. Kazuko Tadano, the character designer for the original Sailor Moon anime, will be designing the characters for animation. Yasuharu Takanashi will compose the music. Yumiko Soraga is the art director. All of the cast from the previous anime will return for this movie.
The movie’s first part will open on June 9, 2023, and the second part on June 30, 2023, in theaters in Japan.
