The television anime adaptation of Yūki Yaku’s Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki light novel series officially confirmed a second season titled Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage. The announcement comes with a teaser trailer previewing the new season.
The first season of the anime aired in January 2021, and the production of a new season was announced in January of this year. The video revealed this time confirms that the second season will consist of 13 episodes.
In addition, on April 16, the first on-stage event, “Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki Fes!” will be held at Saitama Kaikan Main Hall in Saitama Prefecture, where the work is also set.
The two-part daytime and evening event will feature Gen Sato as Fumiya Tomozaki, Hisako Kanemoto as Aoi Hinami, Ikumi Hasegawa as Minami Nanami, Ai Chino as Fuka Kikuchi, Ryoko Maekawa as Hanabi Natsuhayashi, Nene Hieda as Yuuzu Izumi, and Shuntaro Mizuno as Takei, as on stage MCs. Rakuten Ticket has started accepting applications for pre-sale tickets from February 9.
A collaboration event will also be held in Saitama City. During the event period from February 10 to March 31, both “Keyword Rally” and “Shop Collaboration” events will be held. Those who complete each condition will receive a limited prize for this collaboration.
▍About Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki
Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuuki Yaku and illustrated by Fly. It began serialization in 2016 under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint. It has been published in English as Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki by Yen Press since July 30, 2019. A manga adaptation with art by Eight Chida has been serialized in Square Enix’s monthly Gangan Joker magazine since December 2017. A 12-episode anime adaptation was released in the Winter of 2021, with 2 OVA episodes released in May and June 2021.
The story centers on Expert gamer Tomozaki Fumiya, who doesn’t exactly fit in, but he wishes he did. With no written rules for success and gameplay that doesn’t work in his favor, the real world seems impossible for someone like him. But, like any noob, all he really needs are some strategies and a seasoned player like Aoi Hinami to help him. Hopefully, with her guidance, Tomozaki will gain the experience he needs.
