The Ukrainian game developer Frogwares has confirmed the release date of Sherlock Holmes The Awakened after several war-induced delays pushed out its development timeline. The game will officially release on April 11 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GoG.
To mark the news, the developer also released a new trailer that delves more into the cosmic, Cthulhu-inspired horror of Sherlock Holmes The Awakened. The long-awaited remake has gone gold, with its content now complete and playable from start to finish. Preorders are now available, and those who preorder will receive The Sleuth’s Attire Cosmetic Set for free.
Sherlock Holmes The Awakened acts as a continuation of young Sherlock’s story, with Holmes and Watson working together on their first major case. The story follows the detective duo as they attempt to thwart the plans of an Eldritch god-obsessed cult that is working in the shadows to bring about a world-altering prophecy. Originally released in 2006, the new remake has been rebuilt and redesigned from the ground up to run in Unreal Engine 4.
Players can purchase one of the three available editions: the Standard Edition priced at USD $39.99, and the Deluxe Edition priced at USD $49.99, which includes the full game of Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, side quests packs, and six exclusive outfits. The PC-only Premium Edition is priced at USD $54.99, which includes the full game, side quest packs, six exclusive outfits, and a digital artbook and soundtrack.
