At Anime Japan 2023, the anime adaptation of Okemaru and Saba Mizore’s Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha (Boys who Dream are Realists) light novel series has revealed a new visual, the second trailer and its broadcast period in the summer of 2023.
The romantic comedy anime is produced by Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ, and directed by Kazuomi Koga, with scripts written by Michiko Yokote, and character designs handled by Masaru Koseki. The opening theme song will be performed by Kaori Ishihara.
The protagonist, Wataru Sajō is voiced by Naoya Miyase. Aika Natsukawa is voiced by Akiho Suzumoto, Kei Ashida is voiced by Yumiri Hanamori, Kaede Sajō is voiced by Mikako Komatsu, and Rin Shinomiya is voiced by Kaori Ishihara.
In this “two-way unrequited love” story, high school student Wataru Sajõ is in love with his gorgeous classmate Aika Natsukawa. Aika finds him to be a nuisance, but he dreams of her mutual love every day and continues to approach her. One day though, he suddenly wakes up from this “dream.” In order to get back his sense of reality, he recognizes his position and stays away from Aika. But now for some reason, Aika is completely shaken. The series has been ongoing since December 2018 via the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website.
